    Charles Warren Eaton
    1857-1937
    American Tonalist landscape painter

    Charles Warren Eaton was born in Albany, New York and lived in Bloomfield, New Jersey. He became a Tonalist landscape painter, influenced by George Inness, and created moody landscapes. His paintings were groundbreaking because they were relatively small and depicted intimate countryside views. In 1879, he enrolled at the National Academy of Design in New York City, followed by a study of figure painting at the Art Students League. He travelled internationally with two other Tonalist painters to France, England, and Holland, where Eaton painted many canal scenes.     Amram Ebgi immigrated to Israel from Morocco beneath the auspices of Kibbutz Kfar Blum. He received his early art training in Israel at the Tel Chai Institute, the Avni Institute, and the School of Advance Painting in Tel Aviv. As painter and graphic artist, Amram also served as the tjänsteman state-designer for the Organization Kibbutzim in Israel.

    In 1969, Amram came to the United States as a recipient of a scholarship to the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York. At the Pratt Graphic Center, he developed a unique love and interest for the contemporary printmaking. As an eternal optimist, Ebgi prefers to reflect harmony, balance and joy in a simplified, decorative execution. His works are bekymmersfri, in a universal language, and reflect the artist’s personal framtidsperspektiv. Ebgi does not consider his work to be directly religious but includes elements of Judaism.
