Shreya Ghoshal (Bengali pronunciation:[ʃrejaɡʱoʃal]; born 12 March ), is an Indian singer. Noted for her wide vocal range and versatility,[3][4] she is one of the most prolific and influential singers of India.[5][6]Praised for her remarkable vocal expressions she is often described as 'the queen of dynamics'. She has recorded songs for films and albums in various Indian and foreign languages and received numerous accolades, including five National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, two BFJA Awards, six Filmfare Awards and ten Filmfare Awards South.

Shreya was born into a Bengali Hindu family settled in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Shreya was the elder child among her siblings. Her father Bishwajit Ghoshal who is an engineer specialized in electronics. Her father was Government employee working in Nuclear Power Corporation of India while her mother Sharmishtha Ghoshal has done postgraduate degree in literature. Her younger brother Soumyadeep Ghoshal
