I became interested in learning more about his life and was able to order this book from my favorite online used bookseller. I added it to the pile for the Zapata Reading Club so we both could enjoy it. Marco had the honor of the next choice at the time and when the day came to pick a new book, naturally he picked this one!
I can speak for both of us when I say we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Pelé. The book revealed him to be not only an incredible football player, but an incredible human being also. He did not try to portray himself as a saint; he shows he is a man just like others, but also he has a depth of character that seems rare these days, especially in the world of sport.
