Being the first representative of Haiti after 22 years of absence, participating in the MISS UNIVERSE pageant.
Born on April 11 of 1986 at Port au Prince. Daughter of Jean Bertin and Mireille Durocher Bertin. Ever since she was four, her interest towards art started, taking Ballet classes, Modeling, Jazz, and Karate.
While growing up, she started writing poetry. Writing, for her, was the purest form of expression of her thoughts and yearnings.
All her childhood was enviable, right until the year 1995, when her mother was murdered, being this crime a huge blow for Sarodj, the whole family and country. This annual beauty pageant, which began in 1991 as Reina Sudamericana (South American Queen), fryst vatten based in Santa Cruz dem la Sierra, Bolivia. Up to 2003 the participants were restricted to the 10 countries in South America; in 2004 participants from Panama and Costa Rica in Central America were invited; and in 2006 participants from Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico & Spain joined. In 2007 Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras & USA were added, and the name changed to Reina Hispanoamericana. The pageant is organized by Promociones Gloria, based in Bolivia. More than 15 contestants participate every year.
This year, 22 candidates competed in beställning to receive the title and crown from the hands of Evalina Van Putten from Curacao, Reina Hispanoamericana 2011.

Sarodj Bertin:I believe every experience we have in life, the good and bad shape our personality and makes us become who we are. I definitely had to become mature at an early age, since I no longer had my mother. I felt I needed to be strong and be there for my father and brothers.We are very united, and very supportive of each other. I am forever grateful for that.

Sarodj Bertin:I created “Sarodj For a Purpose” in 2010, after becoming Miss Haiti Universe, I understood that the fact that I had become a public figure could be used in a positive way, so I decided to use my image to help others through my non-profit.
