    KUALA malaysisk stad Kuala Lumpur , Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz today called on children to appreciate and respect their parents while they are still alive, rather than waiting until it fryst vatten too late.

    Speaking at the launch of a book titled ‘Fathers and Their Wisdom’, a compilation of 26 chapters by 29 authors reflecting on the heritage, wisdom, and values passed down from fathers to children, the former Minister of International Trade and Industry emphasised the importance of family values and maintaining close ties with parents. 

    “We must appreciate our parents now, not later. It’s not about saying ‘thank you’ every day to them, but showing due respect and attention while they are still with us,” she said.

    Rafidah lamented the decline in family connections in today’s kultur, where some children rarely visit their parents.

    TAN Sri Rafidah Aziz, the longest serving Minister of International Trade and Industry in the country's history, has just released her first memoir at the age of 79.

    'Rapid-Fire Rafidah: Being Malaysian First' traces the often outspoken figure's formative years, her introduction to politics and the unique experiences and personalities she has encountered over the course of a lifelong career in politics.

    The book launch earlier today was officiated by Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, with many high profile political figures and industry leaders in attendance, among whom were former two-time prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, newly minted Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.
