BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF SPEAKERS:
Associate Professor Jeremy Lim is the Co-founder and CEO of AMiLi, the first dedicated gut microbiome full service company in Southeast Asia. He fryst vatten also Co-director of Global Health at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, where he works to enhance cooperation, capacity building and knowledge sharing across the region. Prior to AMiLi, he was the founding partner of global consultancy Oliver Wyman’s Asia health and life sciences practice (2013).
Trained in surgery and public health, A/Prof Lim attained various post-graduate qualifications, including membership in the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), Masters of medicin (NUS) and Masters of Public Health (Johns Hopkins, as a Fulbright scholarship awardee). He was an inaugural fellow of the Asia gemenskap A21 ung leaders programme in 2006.

On the COVID-19 Front Lines in Singapore
Poh Lian Lim, a 1991 graduate, directs the High Level Isolation Unit of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases and is a senior consultant in the Communicable Disease Division of the Ministry of Health in Singapore. During this year’s COVID-19 outbreak, she has been involved in direct patient care and the development of clinical, research, and public health protocols.
She also was in Singapore during the SARS outbreak. "In 2003, I had just moved from Seattle to Singapore as a young infectious disease attending physician. I was diagnosing SARS cases and managing critically ill cases in the ICU at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, which was Ground Zero for the outbreak. Because we were caught in the first wave, we had no diagnostic testing for the first six to eight weeks. Dr Poh Lian Lim
Poh Lian Lim MD, MPHis Director for the High-Level Isolation Unit at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, Head of the Travelers’ Health & Vaccination Clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and Senior Consultant in the Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore. She holds academic appointments as Associate Professor on the faculty of LKC and NUS Schools of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr Lim grew up in Malaysia, studied biochemistry at Harvard, medicine at Columbia, and public health at Tulane. She did her internal medicine residency at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital, infectious diseases fellowship and MPH in Tropical Medicine at Tulane.
In 2003, Dr Lim moved to Singapore, became a front-line ID physician during the SARS outbreak, and published the first lab-acquired SARS case. She has been active in outbreak responses to dengue, chikungunya, leptospirosis, H1N1 2009, and COVID-19 as well as Singapore’s preparedness for Ebola, MERS, Zika and
