Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi and Deputy Minister of Correctional Services, Mr Thabang Makwetla in collaboration with the National Library of South Africa's Centre for the Book will officiate the opening of the 6th Funda Mzantsi National Championship on Monday, 5 October 2015, in George, Western Cape.
The theme for the 2015 Funda Mzantsi National Championship is "Developing Creative Minds". Funda Mzantsi National Championship is a Book Club reading competition wherein more than 30 book clubs will compete to win the first prize. This includes book clubs at correctional facilities whereby offenders participate as part of rehabilitation programme through reading and the winners of the competition receive medals and trophies.
The purpose of the Funda Mzantsi Championship is to instill the love of reading, improve book reviewing
